Rumor??
I've overheard various people talking about them closing the Gears of War 1 servers (them being EPIC)... is this true? Provide link if so, just so i can have valid reason to cry myself to sleep

Gears 1 doesn't have dedicated servers, so they can't. I really doubt they would close the Gears PC servers already.
